Penny Nichols and Joyce Woodson are here from New York and California for the weekend.  Take part in a rare opportunity to learn from award-winning singers and writers, and boost your skills with fellow enthusiasts

Penny Nichols is conducting a harmony-singing workshop at 1 pm on Sunday at TR Dance Center.  Penny has shared stages, during a long and international career, with Jimmy Buffett, Jackson Browne, Big Brother & the Holding Company, the Association, Linda Rondstadt and many others. She brings her experiences and talents to bear in a fun and motivating class that will help you hear possibilities and take your singing to new heights.

 

Joyce Woodson shares a songwriting workshop at 11:30 am Sunday at TR Dance Center.  Joyce is an award-winning songwriter who tours nationally as well as teaches songwriting with the well known SummerSongs songwriting camp for adults on the west coast.

 She has released three albums of original music on her own label over the last 10 years.  'I believe we each hold 'nuggets' of experiences deep within.  These can be the basis for creating beautiful and illuminating songs that can heal and reveal our hidden self.  The more personal and specific the writing is - the more universal it actually becomes.  Through a simple guided exercise, attendees begin to discover long forgotten images and emotions, much like excavating an ancient fossil. The results will be more gratifying and heartfelt songs.'

Tickets for these 90-minute workshops are $15.
Tickets to the Granby Theater concerts are $25 in advance (general seating) and $35 in advance (preferred seating—includes a beer/wine or soda drink ticket).  Tickets are $30 and $40 respectively, the day of the concert.
